Everyone can use our grooming services as long as your dog has an updated Rabies vaccine. For daycare and boarding, an evaluation is required, which can be scheduled by emailing info@thedogstay.com. After passing the evaluation, we require at least one day of daycare before boarding to ensure your dog is comfortable in our open-pack environment and has a positive experience.

Evaluations take about 30 minutes at most. You'll bring your dog, and we’ll introduce them to a couple of dogs in a room to observe behavior, looking for signs of aggression or anything that could affect the safety of other dogs or staff. Afterward, we give you a tour of the facility and discuss operations. If everything checks out, your dog passes the evaluation. For boarding, we require at least one day of daycare to ensure your dog is comfortable in our open-pack environment before any longer stays.

To ensure your dog has a positive experience, we require at least one day of daycare after their evaluation and before boarding. This helps your pup get familiar with our routine and their pack in our open-pack environment. It also allows us to assess whether an extended stay would be in their best interest and ensure their well-being, as well as the harmony of the pack.

If your dog hasn’t been to The Dog Stay for daycare or boarding in over six months, we require a re-evaluation. This ensures that your dog remains comfortable and happy in our open-pack environment, where they interact freely with other dogs. The re-evaluation helps us observe any behavioral changes and ensures that boarding or daycare will be a positive experience for your dog and the rest of the pack.

The process takes about 30 minutes, during which we reintroduce your dog to the facility and observe how they interact with a few dogs from their pack. If your dog passes, they’ll need to attend at least one full day of daycare before boarding can be approved. This extra step helps them get used to the routine and ensures they’re comfortable during longer stays.

For any Daycare or Boarding stay, we require the following vaccinations to be up to date:

• Rabies

• Distemper (DHPP)

• Influenza

• Bordetella (Kennel Cough) is strongly recommended but not yet required.
